I'm a delegate here in VA and believe me, us Ron Paul folks are here to stay. Someone will have to pick up the pieces after one of the three hucksters is elected, and we are moving in position to do so.
R Michael Hill
I have voted Republican in every single election since I turned 18. I was a member of the Young Republicans in my college days, campaigning for Reagan. And I'm an unashamed and fearless Ron Paul campaigner and delegate now. The power structure within my state (Missouri) is attempting to shut us out...but even if successful, they will not stop me or anyone else who has been brought to their senses by Ron Paul's integrity and message.
This IS NOT ABOUT THE MAN (Ron Paul), it is about the message! Should a tragedy occur and we loose the good doctor tomorrow, I and every other true conservative will continue to get involved at the local and statewide levels. We are here to stay...Furthermore, we do NOT want to destroy the party, but make it stronger, more vital and more in tune with its founding principles. We are not all a bunch of concpiracy nuts (though we have some)...we are clear eyed and ready to serve (and even to openly debate). But we will ONLY serve the purpose of re-establishing those core principles of limited constitutional government, sound money, liberty and a non-interventionist foriegn policy. These were the core convictions of our founding fathers! I therefore will NOT be voting for McCain come November unless he too comes to his senses and reaffirms these principles. He is not even close yet. How can i support unity of party when what i am asked to unite behind will be bad for our nation? There is no lesser of evils among these candidates. Or if there is, it is a mystery to me. I will be asking for a write-in ballot: two words, seven letters...Ron Paul!

I preferred Duncan Hunter in the primary. I accept John McCain as the Republican candidate. If you prefer Barack Obama as president, then vote for Ron Paul (or other) or stay home. You'll get your wish! Good luck...

By the way, I'm 82 years old, an eight year military veteran, and have been a Republican all of my life. Just in case you might get the idea I'm some wet behind the ears neophyte.

To answer Kevin's question as to whether Ron Paul supporters are a flash-in-the-pan, the answer is, NO. To say more would be giving away the game, prematurely, but stay tuned and watch what happens. It's going to be interesting.

I'll be active in my state and county Republican Party organizations. But at least until the next election, I won't be doing anything that requires me to give them a dollar or a vote (except a primary vote, of course).
I am giving them a four year opportunity to earn my vote, and staying where I can watch to see if they move away from their Tax and Spend, Anti-Freedom, Big Government, Socialist ways..
Meanwhile, I'll be donating to and voting for the Libertarian Party.

You are exactly whats wrong with the GOP, your only reason to vote for McCain is because he is a Republican! I am not wet behind the ears either and the GOP was no longer my Grandfathers party starting with the election of George H. Bush! John McCain and GOP'ers like you completely ignore the Conservative platform and violate your own rules!
But....take a deep breath.....we're taking over......soon!

Having read these comments, I have to agree with virtually all of what is being said. However these are not the only reasons that was are seeing Republican domination spiraling into a death dive. WE the American people have been not only been watching this party take us from relative “peace and prosperity” to 5 years of war with more promised, bankrupting debt, and a shameful brand of divisive, slash and burn politics that we have not witnessed in many decades but have also been witness to an embarrassing litany of scandals. It seems that there is no end in sight. No bottom to the swamp. Duke Cunningham was the tip of the ice-burg. We see corruption everywhere we shine the light on day. Everything that this party touches is seems to corrupt. Elections tampered with in Florida and Ohio, justice department lawyers fired for not trumping up charges against Democrats. Incompetent cronies appointed to vital positions as the head of agencies. Remember “Brownie , your doing a heck of a job”. Some job, over 1300 lives lost but not one Arabian horse.
In short the PARTY HAS BECOME A PARTY OF THIEVES AND LIARS. I agree that the Republican party has to clean house from top to bottom. It must also somehow find the moral compass that it lost years ago. If not, than we are seeing the last days of the Republican party.
We are not stupid and we are finally starting to pay attention and we are embarrassed and loathed at what we see. America has become a rogue state under these criminals and pariah in the world. Through their acts, in our name, our hard earned good will and reputation as a beacon of light in a dark world is in the toilet.
It is unpatriotic to do nothing while this is happening to our country. Patriotism is more than empty rhetoric and a lapel pin. It is putting country before party and profit. Neo-con Republicans have forgotten that but we Americans are remembering.

Ron has carried the torch of liberty since 1988 when he ran on the L ticket and as surely as the Statue of Liberty has been standing in the Harbor as a beacon to those who came before us, he is also a beacon of hope for our future. His message is clear and his followers are many. I have looked at the third party candidates and found that if I voted for Bob Barr just because he is a Libertarian, I would be guilty of the exact same thing that I have been accusing the Republicans of doing. I would be voting for the party, not the man. After looking into Bob Barr's past voting record, I realized that he may very well be a Neocon as well as the presumptive nominees of the two major parties. Ron Paul has asked us not to write him in. That leaves the Constitution Party candidate. He is very well known among the Ron Paulers. Her stumped for Ron and holds the same principals near and dear. Issues are the same. My only concern was that he would presume to dictate that Christianity be the "only religion" I'm a Christian but the constitution clearly opposes that dictation. After hear Chuck speak to the issue my fears were layed to rest. "I see no constitutional basis for me being able to dictate religion or lack of it. While as a pastor and a Christian I will use as my religion as my own moral compass, I cannot dictate that for everyone else" He said that on an conference call with Restore The Republic. I had questions for Barr but he chose not to attend the question answer session. Why won't he hold a question/answer session so Ron's supporters can ask him about real important issues that are facing us today. He supported the war and voted for the Patriot Act and he voted to strengthen the Lautenburg gun control legislation. I want to know what assurances he has that he will be a different animal in the White House when all of those same people come to bare down on him. Well, I will probably not get those answers any time soon. To my dismay, many of my fellow Ron Paulers are leaning toward the Big L but thankfully, for the most part, Chuck is leading with the most support.

Correction. On a conference call not an conference call.
